It is feeling like summer in Colorado. We are loving the warmer weather and all that goes with it....gardening, evening walks, and summer foods! My son and I consumed many many of these last summer. We loved the tart-sweet combination of lime and strawberry and found this to be a perfect light afternoon snack. Now that it is warmer, the love for this drink is back in full force.
Strawberry Limeade Slushy |
1 cup crushed ice
1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries (about 5 medium sized berries)
2 tbsp lime juice
1-2 tbsp agave nectar (we do one, but we like these tangy)
1/2 - 3/4 cup water
Directions:
Put the ice, strawberries, lime juice, sweetener, and 1/2 cup of water in a high-powered blender and blend away. You may need to add a bit more water if it gets bogged down, and you may have to scrape down the sides a bit. We got a Nutri Ninja last year and it blends these up no problem. I love that thing. It makes a very smooth drink like a slurpee from 7-11...yum!
